The world we live in has become more visual than ever, with an astonishing number of more than 3 billion images shared per day! That’s why business need to get on the visual-content train as soon as possible.

Any content in general is immensely important for a business’s success, but a type of content marketing has become so mainstream that it’s hard to ignore: visual content.

That’s one of the reasons that platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Instagram are so successful, even Tumblr and Pinterest are catching up. What do all these have in common?

They’re all platforms focused in visual content.

Why? The visual element (images or videos) have a higher chance of turning viral.

Long texts are a thing of the past, or only-texts (without anything visual). Even the algorithm of some platforms, like Facebook, gives emphasis to images or videos.

The benefits of acquiring a strong Visual Content Strategy for a business:

1.Raising brand awareness –it’s important for a brand to be remembered by its audience. That’s why it’s important to have visual content since it increases a brand recognition and recall. For instance, the brand should put a watermark of the brand logo in all the visual assets it uses online. Whenever an image gets viral or shared, people can easily associate that with that brand.

2. Increasing website traffic — It’s necessary to invest to attract more people to a website, and even more to retain them, but it’s important to point out how much your business will lose in terms of website traffic, if it doesn’t.

3. Engaging customers thought visual storytelling — As we said before, long texts are a thing of the past, adding visual content makes a brand more interesting and keeps the audience engaged. Visual content is also important for maintaining visitors on a landing page, since this raises the click-thought rates and consequently the visitor’s engagement with the brand. People tend to engage more with visual content because of the power an image has — a image can resonate with the audience, it can elicit joy, sadness, fear… this’s how powerful visual story telling is.

4. Improving conversion rates — Higher brand awareness, site traffic and customer engagement can lead to an increase of sales.

This is why it’s important to understand and visual content and written words are great on their own, but when combined it can produce greater results.

Take notice that what’s even better than any visual content is custom visual content.
