Olivia Ghalioungui

Photographer, Videographer.

Olivia, born in 1998, was raised between cities and countries, but even if she never spent any time in Italy, her mom made sure that was the first language she ever spoke.

When she was 17 she moved to Paris to pursue a career in the fashion photography industry. Olivia’s photography universe is sometimes bright, sometimes playful, sometimes serious, sometimes with color, sometimes black and white…

@Olivia Ghalioungui

“Her work spans from highly stylized fashion editorials for publications like Vogue to diaristic and analog photos, whose intimate and stripped-down quality gives viewers the impression they’ve been let into a momentary unearthing of her innermost spaces and relationships.”

- Page Magazine.

Because of her work, talent and spirit we decided to dedicate one of our blog posts to tell you a bit more about her, how her passion for photography started, what was the coolest photography job she had until now, and more. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

@Olivia Ghalioungui

What moments are you the most proud of in your photography career?

My proudest moment I think is when I had my first returning client about 3 years ago, as well as my first job booked abroad.

@Olivia Ghalioungui

How did your passion for photography start?

It started at the age of about 14 with self portraiture.

What photos are you most proud of?

The photos I am most proud of are ones shot for an editorial for Creators Magazine.

@Olivia Ghalioungui

What was the coolest photography job you had?

I think my favourite job I had was shooting for Marie De La Roche, a designer from Jakarta. I absolutely love continuously working with her!

How do you manage your time between studies and photography?

My university gave students a lot of free time out of school hours in order to develop themselves artistically and develop any projects they have. I took that opportunity to further my photographic work, like working on weekends and any free time I had was dedicated to thinking about work.

@Olivia Ghalioungui

Where has your work been featured?

My work has previously been featured in ELLE, Marie Claire, Vogue Italia’s Photovogue, Boys by Girls, Creators Magazine, Vulkan, KODD, Onfilm, Flanelle, Vanity Teen, Solstice, Volant, Kaygod, Shuba Magazine, and Art of Portrait Magazine.

How did you start getting gigs?

I started working about 3 years ago and I first started getting gigs through just collaborating with other creatives which would then develop into jobs. I also love connecting with people and that is a helpful aspect of building potential work relationships.

Would you like to be represented by an agency, or collaborate with a photographer someday?

I am thinking about seeking representation in the future, as well as collaborating with a photographer, but nothing is certain at the moment!
